65th Annual 2019 Progressive® Insurance St. Louis Boat & Sportshow takes over America’s Center & The Dome

Media opportunities, visuals begin Feb 5; show takes place Feb. 7 -10

WHAT: The 2019 Progressive Insurance St. Louis Boat & Sportshow – area’s longest running and largest boating and outdoors event.

Kick cabin fever and prepare for fun in the sun at the Progressive Insurance St. Louis Boat & Sportshow. Boating and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels can gear up for warmer weather, seeing and shopping hundreds of new boats, outdoor gear options, and marine accessories. The show also offers a variety of hands-on activities and live entertainment, including:

  • New! Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel. With appearances on The Tonight Show, the Late Show with David Letterman, CNN, and Good Morning America, and in hit movies including Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy, Twiggy is sure to entertain show goers of all ages. See Twiggy in action here. Come to the show to talk with her handler and find out all the ins and outs of our furry friend.
  • The Hawg Trough, a 5,000-gallon, fully stocked fishing demo tank with seminars from pro anglers. Media can grab a pole to try and catch a fish or interview the experts with live demos. Demos available for early morning.
  • Willow Creek Trout Pond, where little ones can practice their angling skills for free, reeling in live trout.Photo op of the little anglers.
  • Upper Limits Rock Climbing Wall, open for free sessions daily for all ages. Demos available for early morning.
  • New! Progressive Boat Club, featuring educational seminars, a virtual boating simulator and remote control pond to help sharpen boating skills – great for all ages! In partnership with the Annapolis School of Seamanship. Try your hand at the virtual boating simulator.
  • Paddle Sports Pool, where attendees can get their feet wet attending demos and testing out a new Hobie or Jackson Kayak. Seminar and open paddle times will be posted on-site. Media can get on the water and demo paddle boards.

WHEN: Media opportunities begin during boat and sportshow move-in and run-through show close Sunday, Feb 10.

  • Show Move-In, Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1-3 p.m. Preview the show and capture footage of boats moving in. Interviews with the show manager, Becca Doyle, can be coordinated. Additional move-in times can be coordinated for media upon request.
  • Thursday, Feb. 7–Sunday, Feb. 10. Media are welcome to tour the show, tape or do live shots throughout show days. Interviews with the show manager and exhibitors can be coordinated.
