Progressive Insurance® St. Louis Boat & Sportshow® Celebrates 60 Years with A&E Duck Dynasty Star, New Craft Beer Event and Sales on Hundreds of New Boats and Marine Accessories
St. Louis, Missouri – (January 6, 2014) –The Progressive Insurance®  St. Louis Boat & Sportshow® celebrates 60 years of boating fun at America’s Center and Edward Jones Dome February 26 to March 2, 2014. With special celebrity guest appearance from John Godwin of A&E’s Duck Dynasty, the new Anchors & Ales craft beer event, an expanded hands-on educational seminar lineup, and specials on hundreds of boats and marine accessories, the St. Louis Boat & Sportshow is the perfect place for boaters to dive into summer.
 
The 2014 boat and sportshow offer a variety of fun activities and education for all ages, including:
  • John Godwin, star of A&E’s hit series Duck Dynasty, joins the show Saturday, March 1 from Noon-2:00 p.m. and 3:00-5:00 p.m. Guests can get autographs and take photos with the star of this cult-favorite TV show.
  • Boat and beer enthusiasts are invited to attend Anchors and Ales on Friday, February 28 for a night of craft beer tastings. Anchors and Ales ticket holders will receive admission into the show and exclusive access to sample craft beers from some of the top breweries in the state. 
  • Test the waters kayaking or stand up paddleboarding indoors at Paddler’s Party Cove.
  • Escape to summer at the new Sandy Harbor, where visitors can shop some of the new boats in a harbor-like setting, listen to live music and grab a bite to eat.
  • Learn the latest techniques in fishing and hunting at the Boating and Outdoor Classroom; receive tips on maintaining and repairing boats at Fred’s Shed; and see expert demonstrations in fishing and casting in the 40-foot long, 5,000 gallon Texas Bass Tank.
  • Take a look back in history at America’ with classic boat models at the Antique & Classic Boat Display.
  • Kids’ Cove is a place where kids can compete in the BassMasters Kids Casting Competition, fish for free at the Becky Thatcher Trout Pond and transform themselves into pirates on the Gypsy Rose III Landship. Families also won’t want to miss the high-flying Dock Dogs competition and Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer, who will be stopping by Saturday and Sunday.
